Eligibility Criteria
- Feeder Cadre: Serving permanent or regularly appointed temporary Lower Division Clerks (JSA/LDC) in the Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS) cadre of DoPT.
- Service Length (Crucial date: 1 August 2025):
- Minimum 5 years of approved and continuous service in the LDC grade.
- Minimum 4 years if appointed to the LDC grade through a competitive examination (which was declared at least 5 years before the crucial date).
- Typewriting Test: Must have passed the typewriting test held by UPSC or SSC (unless formally exempted).

Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The exam consists of two parts:
- Part-I: Computer Based Examination (200 Marks)
- Comprehension and General English (50 Questions, 50 Marks)
- Parliamentary Procedure (50 Questions, 50 Marks)
- General Knowledge (50 Questions, 50 Marks)
- Noting and Drafting (50 Questions, 50 Marks)
- Duration: 3 Hours (4 Hours for scribe-eligible candidates)
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- Part-II: Evaluation of Record of Service (100 Marks)
- Evaluation of Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APARs) for candidates who qualify Part-I.

- Register/Log in on the new Staff Selection Commission portal at ssc.gov.in. (Old OTR credentials from ssc.nic.in are not valid).
- Click on "Apply" under the Senior Secretariat Assistant / Upper Division Clerk Grade LDCE 2025 listing in the Live Exam section.
- Fill in the departmental, service history, and typing test details.
- Capture a live photograph and upload your scanned signature (10-20 KB).
- Upload required documents (certified first page of Service Book, particulars of service) and submit.
- Print the submitted application and attach self-attested photocopies of all documents.
- Forward the printed application through your Head of Department / Head of Office (duly signed and stamped with seal on photograph and form) to:
