Note: 80% seats reserved for Females and 20% for Males at participating AIIMS. Detailed institute-wise & category-wise breakup is available in Annexure-V of the official notification.

Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualification I: B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing from Indian Nursing Council / State Nursing Council recognized Institute or University OR B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) / Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from recognized Institute/University AND Registered as Nurses & Midwife with State / Indian Nursing Council.
• Essential Qualification II: Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery from Indian Nursing Council / State Nursing Council recognized Institute / Board or Council AND Registered as Nurses & Midwife in State / Indian Nursing Council AND Two Years’ Experience in a minimum 50 bedded Hospital after acquiring the educational qualification.
• Remarks on Experience: The required two years of experience is essential and must be acquired after completing the residency period of the course, declaration of result & registration with the State/Indian Nursing Council.

Salary/Stipend

• Pay Level-07 in the Pay Matrix
• Pre-revised Pay Band-2 of ₹9300-34800 with Grade Pay of ₹4600/-
• Usual allowances as admissible to Central Government Servants of similar status stationed at respective cities of respective Institutes/Hospitals.

Age Limit (as on 16-03-2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years
• Age relaxation applicable as per rules for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwBD (10/13/15 years), Ex-Servicemen, Central Govt. Civilian Employees etc. (detailed in General Conditions).

Selection Process

• Stage I: NORCET Preliminary (Qualifying) – 100 MCQs, 90 minutes
• Stage II: NORCET Mains – 160 MCQs, 180 minutes (merit decided on this stage)
• Negative marking of 1/3 for wrong answers in both stages
• Document Verification & Medical Board for PwBD candidates
• Final selection on merit of Stage II + choices exercised + eligibility as per respective AIIMS rules
